About Us

Children are great gifts to parents, families and the society. They are the future and prospect of every society on earth. It is therefore necessary to care, train, protect and ensure they are healthy for. them to keep the purpose they are given.

Unfortunately, many African children die at a very tender age due to one infection or the other of when most of the infections are preventable. And issues like poverty, gross dearth of medical facility and other man-made calamities are often responsible for that.

Out of every 6 of the African children, 2 cannot access good health-care because of poverty, another 2 cannot because they don't have access to orthodox medical-care, thus putting 4 out of every 6 African children in risk of dying of illness.

Children’s health-care is paramount to the survival and positive development of every child and that is why parents/guardians, families and the society must see to it. In this plight, the Doctors For Children International position has been locating poor and vulnerable African child for free and proper health-care with the objective of overcoming child mortality in Africa.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) report, among many childhood diseases, Pneumonia, Malaria, Measles and AIDS account for most Child mortality. Many others also suffer from polio and under nutrition. Malaria alone kills 1 child in every 30 seconds, about 3000 children everyday.

If we continue to loose our young innocent Children to diseases which are easily preventable and curable, who will we have to live and lead this our prosperous nation tomorrow?

We bring hope, Care, Laughter and Happiness to the African Child.

We have come to note that administering meaningful and appreciative health-care service requires more than taking doctors, treatment and relevant drugs to the children, we now create better environment to prevent and immune children from diseases.

This includes vaccination of children against infection, provision of good water, mosquito nets, sweaters for children, distribution of disinfectants products and organizing a sensitization/training programmes for parents and guardians on how to care for their children/wards; protecting and preventing them from infections and diseases.

We co-opt the services of specialist consultants for the management of specialist cases.

ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION

The process of routine immunization in this country has reduced considerably as a result of the publicized National Immunization days. As such, parents just wait for such days before their children are immunized.

However, we educate the people in these areas on the importance of routine immunization in collaboration with National Programme on Immunization. We print child immunization charts, which we provide for every child in the community. We also administer some of the vaccines in the course of our work.
